Why is sustainable living important to you? How does this impact animal welfare?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I believe that we\u2019re all deeply connected on this planet and what affects the smallest of us will eventually affect us all. I\u2019ve always had a love and respect for animals since I was a young child, with a particular fondness for the \u201cunderdogs\u201d that go unnoticed by most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does sustainable living mean to you?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To me, health and sustainability go hand in hand. I believe wellness and health are closely linked to what we eat, and that whole real foods are the best place to get the nutrients we need. I believe that the choices that are best for our health mirror those that are best for the planet. The closer to the source we can get, the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the hardest part of sustainable living?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Packaging. Everything comes in plastic. Finding substitutions for certain products that don\u2019t come in plastic can be difficult, though I hope that will continue to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are you looking for when you go grocery shopping?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I grocery shop, my priorities are minimizing plastic waste, avoiding processed foods, and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you used GreenChoice to implement your sustainable lifestyle? What do you think of the app?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is the first time I\u2019ve heard of GreenChoice<\/a>, but I\u2019ve now been playing around with it and think it\u2019s a really clever concept. I try to buy as much of my food as possible from local farmers, but especially at certain times of the year, it\u2019s just not possible. I appreciate an app like this that could make intentional food choices more accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What piece of advice would you share with someone who’s interested in sustainable living?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To just break things down back to the basics. There doesn\u2019t need to be any calorie counting or trendy dieting when you begin to value your food and where it came from. Real, whole, foods \u2014 as close as they can be from ground to table \u2014 will improve both your health and your footprint. You don\u2019t need to do it all at once, just start somewhere and make replacements you can stick with.
